DUTIES:

  • As a Courier, you will be responsible for picking up laboratory samples throughout the area within 4 hours of the Marlborough / Agawam sites and transporting them to the appropriate facility.  Pickup hours and travel time each day (Monday – Friday) will vary.  Occasionally pickups will need to be done in inclement weather.
  • You will be required to work in a regulated environment (FDA/DOT/OSHA) and strictly follow procedures.
  • As a Courier, you must have strong customer service skills and be detail-oriented and organized.
  • Additionally, you will need to apply effective time management skills in order to meet deadlines for picking up samples and coordinating driving routes.
  • You will also take ownership of the customer’s delivery needs and offer viable solutions.
  • As a Courier, you should also clearly and concisely document all work activities in a timely manner utilizing existing forms and records while writing legibly.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent with 1+ years of experience of driving experience for a regulated organization.  Must have a clean driving license and be able to drive a van.
  • Must possess a current and valid driver’s license
  • Maintains a clean driving record at all times.
  • Drives in a safe manner.
  • Is courteous, responsible and punctual.
  • The employee will be required to wear the appropriate personal protective equipment for specific job duties to be performed. Such personal protective equipment may include, but not limited to: safety eyewear, hearing protection, various types of respirators / breathing apparatus, lab coats, full protective body coverings, various types of gloves, etc.

  • Flexible with last minute scheduling changes.
  • Maintain delivery log of activities per policy and procedure.
  • Maintain appropriate fuel level of the company van(s) at all times.
  • Navigates routes using basic internet map programs such as Google Maps or Map Quest
  • Reports status and any problems to management immediately.
  • Notifies management of any concerns / issues with the van(s).
  • Performs basic visual inspection of the van(s).
  • Maintains cleanliness of company van(s).
  • May be asked to perform additional duties in assigned and unassigned areas.
