We are seeking a Scientist to support key formulation design and development activities within the Formulation team.

The Scientist will be responsible for developing oral solid dosage formulations for drug product process development and analytical method development to primarily support early stages of the CDMO projects. In addition to extensively interacting with cross functional teams, individuals are responsible for carrying out and overseeing formulation development and stability testing of lyophilized and liquid formulations.


  • Responsible for all aspects of formulation and drug product process development projects that include early stages of development.
  • Conducts physicochemical characterization and pre-formulation activities
  • Uses fit for purpose analytical methods to support formulation development, and research stability testing.
  • Directly or indirectly leads, guides, and works with research associates and other scientists in conducting research and developmental work, and investigating and solving development problems.
  • Serves as a team representative and subject matter expert in drug development cross functional team meetings, and shares knowledge and expertise of formulations development within the company.
  • Authors and reviews formulation development sections of regulatory and technical documents, study reports and technology transfer documents.
  • Participates in general lab and instrument maintenance.



  • 1-2 years’ industry experience in early phase oral solid dosage formulation development, primarily tablets and capsules
    • Experience with immediate release is required; experience in modified release formulations is desired. 
    • Experience with solutions, suspensions, or topicals is desired. 
  • 1-2 years’ industry experience in pre-formulation, including excipient compatibility and solid form selection, is required. 
  • Lyophilization experience is preferred.
  • Experience in analytical support, such as HPLC and dissolution is preferred. 
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills are required.
  • Ability to write reports and lead client project updates independently.
  • Ability to listen and respond well to external customers, partners and colleagues at all levels.
  • Prioritizes tasks according to business objectives and can pursue several objectives simultaneously.
