DUTIES:

The Sr. Accountant will be responsible for performing cross functional accounting tasks with heavy emphasis on AR and AP.  The Sr. Accountant will ensure compliance with GAAP standards and audit requirements. The successful Sr. Accountant will utilize their thorough understanding of accounting principles to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, while providing support to finance and operational managers and other staff.

 

Primary responsibilities:

  • AR: 
    • Verify, allocate and reconcile laboratory results for proper invoicing and revenue recognition within one day of results delivered to client.
    • Will work directly with laboratory team leads.
  • AP: 
    • Analyze, verify, code and route vendor invoices to accurate personnel for approval.
    • Produce error free batches.
    • Process weekly check runs.
    • Monitor and reconcile corporate credit cards.
    • Establish vendors in applicable systems and maintain vendor records, including W9’s

 

Other responsibilities:

  • Responsible for cash applications within accounting system, to include incoming and outgoing cash
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations 
  • Prepare journal entries
  • Prepare monthly reports, as required
  • Responsible for filing and organization of financial files
  • Support the Finance team in its core functions and day-to-day operations
  • Other duties may be assigned


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Bachelors or Associate degree in Accounting or Finance required. Minimally 5 years related experience regardless of degree.
  • Strong understanding of financial concepts (debits / credits) and basic accounting procedure
  • Experience with month end close.
  • Intermediate/Advanced Excel experience in addition to other Microsoft Office Suite products.
  • Desirable but not required: Knowledge of Great Plains or SAP.
  • Strong attention to detail

  • Ability to analyze data and develop a professional solution
  • Proactive approach to managing daily activities
  • Ability to write professional email correspondence
